Christophe Ponsson is the 2026 French Superbike Champion
Magny-Cours.Christophe Ponsson is the 2026 French Superbike Champion. At the season finale at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, the Frenchman from BMW Team MDS crowned a dominant season with the first championship title of his career, won aboard a BMW M 1000 RR built by alpha Racing. We congratulate Christophe Ponsson and Team MDS on this outstanding achievement.
A commanding end to a strong season
The decision had already fallen in Saturday's first race: Ponsson took victory ahead of Kenny Foray and Hugo Clere, securing the title. On Sunday, he prevailed in a hard-fought seven-rider lead group to complete the double. With 268 points, he finishes the season well clear of defending champion Foray (BMW, 199 points) and Clere (Honda, 188 points).
Ponsson had laid the foundation at the penultimate round at the Circuit du Val de Vienne. Pole position, a new lap record and two race wins gave him a comfortable 48-point lead heading into the finale.
