Reiterberger on the rise
Markus Reiterberger is with his 17 years the youngest driver in class. He made a great race and showed again that he has talent. He drove his BMW S 1000 RR on 6th place and jump in the overall standing on 12th place.
After a crash in qualifying Beau Beaton had to start from position 25 in the race. He fought himself forward, getting with his 15th place his first point of the season.
After a broken engine of a competitor in the Curva Grande during the middle of the race, there was oil on the track. This led to a disaster for the following 5 drivers, including Randy Pagaud. A big crash was the reason that the race was interrupted with the red flag. The track got cleaned and e restart was arranged to race 5 laps.
Randy Pagaud didn’t get hurt, but his bike was totally destroyed after his accident, so he couldn’t join the restart.
Despite the numerous crashes team chef Michel Garnier is obviously satisfied with the outcome of his drivers. ,, We had a good weekend. Randy crashed unluckily because of a broken engine of a competitor, but I’m happy he didn’t get hurt and that’s the main thing. Beau fought hard in the race after an unfortunate crash during the qualifying and scored his first point of the season. Markus result was not a surprise for me. From the first day in the team I have seen that he is a really good driver with lots of talent. The hole team did an excellent job on the weekend.”
,, I have been supporting Markus since his first try in the motorcycle Minibikecup. Every race he confirms my decision to support a young talent of the region. I expect a lot from him and I’m excited how far he gone make it”, said Josef Hofmann, managing director of alpha Racing.
